Renewing a family visa in Dubai involves several steps and requires specific documents and fees. Here’s a guide to help you through the process:

Eligibility and Requirements

Eligibility

Before initiating the renewal process, ensure you have the following documents:

  • Validity: Ensure your current residence visa is still valid. The renewal process should ideally begin 1-2 months before the expiration date to avoid any lapses.
  • Sponsor: You must be a valid resident in Dubai and meet the minimum salary requirements to sponsor your family.

Documents Required

  • For the Sponsor:
    • Valid residence visa and passport copy
    • Emirates ID
    • Recent salary certificate or employment contract
    • Tenancy contract or proof of accommodation

  • For Family Members:
    • Original passports and copies
    • Recent passport-sized photographs
    • Emirates ID (if applicable)
    • Existing residence visa
    • Health insurance documents (if applicable)

Application Process:

  • Medical Examination:
    •  Dependents may need to undergo a medical fitness test. Visit an approved medical center for the test, and make sure to obtain the necessary certificates.
  • Renew Emirates ID:
    •  If the Emirates ID is about to expire, renew it along with the residence visa. The renewal process for the Emirates ID can be done online through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) or at their centers.
  • Submit Renewal Application:
    •  Submit the visa renewal application through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai. You can use their online portal or visit their office in person.
  • Receive and Verify Visa:
    •   After processing, you will receive the renewed residence visas. Make sure all the details are correct and the visas are stamped in the passports.
