Under the UAE’s Federal Constitution, which permits each emirate to maintain its own judicial authority, Dubai has preserved its independent courts. This robust and dynamic legal and regulatory framework has significantly fostered the economic and cultural growth of the Emirate over the years.

The Dubai Courts operate through three levels: the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeal, and the Court of Cassation. The Court of First Instance handles initial litigation, encompassing commercial, administrative, civil, personal, labor, punitive, and real estate cases. The Court of Appeal represents the second level of litigation, addressing cases referred from the Court of First Instance when parties do not reach an agreement at the initial level.
