Obtaining a family visa for Dubai involves several steps, and the requirements may vary based on the specific circumstances. Here’s a general outline of the process:

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility

  • Sponsorship: To sponsor a family visa, you must be a resident in Dubai with a valid residence permit. You should also meet the minimum salary requirement set by the UAE government.
  • Salary Requirement: Typically, the minimum salary required is around AED 4,000 to AED 10,000 per month, depending on the number of dependents and whether you live in a rented apartment or a company-provided accommodation.

Required Documents

  • For the Sponsor:
    • A copy of your residence visa
    • A copy of your passport
    • Salary certificate or employment contract
    • Tenancy contract or proof of accommodation
    • Emirates ID Original

 

  • For the Family Members:
    • Original passports and copies
    • Recent passport-sized photos
    • Birth certificates (translated and attested if not in English or Arabic)
    • Marriage certificate (translated and attested if not in English or Arabic)
    • Current Visa copy (if dependent is inside)

Application Process

Step 01

Secure a Sponsorship Approval

Contact the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) or use the Dubai’s e-visa system.

Submit the necessary documents and pay the application fee. (File Open + Evisa + Change Status)

Step 02

Medical Examination

Family members may need to undergo a medical examination as part of the visa application process. This typically includes a health check-up and a chest X-ray.

Emirates ID Application

After receiving the residence visa, each family member will need to apply for an Emirates ID through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA).

Visa Stamping

Once the residence visa is approved, it needs to be stamped in the passport of each family member.
