The Virtual Work Residence Visa allows individuals employed by companies outside the UAE to live in the UAE while continuing their remote work. Applicants must provide various documents, including proof of employment, health insurance, and income. Meeting these requirements ensures that the visa holder can live and work in the UAE legally and comfortably.

Required Documents

  1. Coloured Personal Photo:
    • A recent coloured photograph of the applicant. This photo must meet the standard specifications for passport photos, including size and background requirements.
  2. Copy of Passport:
    • A clear copy of the applicant’s passport, which should be valid for at least six months from the date of application.
  3. Copy of Health Insurance:
    • Proof of health insurance coverage that is valid in the UAE. The insurance must cover medical expenses and be following UAE regulations.
  4. Medical Fitness Test Result:
    • The result of a medical fitness test conducted in the UAE. This typically involves a health check-up and screening to ensure the applicant is in good health and does not pose a public health risk.
  5. Proof of Remote Work Outside the UAE:
    • Documentation that verifies the applicant is employed by an organization based outside the UAE. This can include a letter from the employer or other official documents confirming remote employment.
  6. Salary Certificate:
    • A certificate or proof showing that the applicant earns at least $3,500 per month or the equivalent in another currency. This is to ensure that the applicant can financially sustain themselves while living in the UAE.
  7. ID Receipt:
    • Proof of identity, which may include a national ID or other official identification documents as required by UAE authorities.

Application Process

  • Proof of Remote Work

The applicant must demonstrate that their employment is remote and that they are working for a company located outside the UAE. This is to confirm that the applicant is not taking up employment with a UAE-based organization and is adhering to the visa's terms.

  • Income Verification

The applicant needs to provide evidence of their monthly income, proving it is at least $3,500 or its equivalent. This can be shown through salary slips, bank statements, or an official salary certificate from their employer.

Step 01

Entry Permit

  • If applying from outside the UAE:
    • You will need to obtain an Entry Permit to enter the UAE. This is essentially a visa that allows you to enter the country and proceed with the further steps of obtaining your Virtual Work Residence Visa.
  • If applying from inside the UAE:
    • You need to first obtain a status change from a visit or tourist visa (if applicable) to a residence visa. This involves applying for an Entry Permit that reflects this change.
