Cancelling a family visa in Sharjah involves a series of steps. Here’s a detailed guide to help you through the process
Documents Needed for Cancellation
- Passports of all family members whose visas are to be cancelled.
- Existing residence visas.
- Sponsor Emirates ID card Original
Process : Application for Inside country Cancellation
- Online: You may be able to initiate the cancellation process through the Sharjah Immigration Department’s online portal or the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website.
- In-Person: Visit the Sharjah Immigration Department or an authorized typing centre to submit the cancellation application.

Important Notes :
- Applicant can stay in UAE 60 days from the date of cancellation if his/her visa was not expired at the time of cancellation.
- Number of days to Stay after cancellation may differ for the high profession, Golden Visa etc
- If the cancellation is done during the grace period, the remaining days will be allowed to stay without fine.
- If the cancellation done during overstay period, 6 days or lesser will be granted from the date of cancellation.
- Always make sure to cross check the date of exit on the Cancellation Approval Paper.
Outside Country Cancellation
If you need to cancel family visas in Sharjah while family members are outside the UAE, there are specific steps and norms to follow
Cancellation Process
Outside country cancellation is applicable when the person stays outside the UAE more than 6 months.
If the cancelation is required before 6months of exit, Sponsor should Submit family members passport in Immigration.
Required Documents
- Passports: Copies of the passports of all family members whose visas are to be cancelled.
- Existing Visas: Copies of the current residence visas.
- Emirates IDs: If applicable, copies of Emirates IDs.
- Proof of Departure: Documentation showing that the family members are outside the UAE, such as flight tickets or exit stamps.
Process : Application for Outside country Cancellation
- Online Portal: Log in to the Sharjah Immigration Department’s online portal or the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website. Follow the instructions for submitting a visa cancellation request.
- Authorized Typing Centers: You may also visit an authorized typing center in Sharjah or a representative office to process the application. Ensure they have all the necessary documents.
